Apply to study with leading professional arts journalists at Day Eight's third-annual Arts Journalism Institute, August 7- 11, 2023.
Faculty for the 2023 Institute include Geoff Edgers (Washington Post), Emma Sarappo (The Atlantic), Sarah Kaufman (Pulitzer Prize winning dance critic), Michael Brodeur (Washington Post), Kayla Randall (National Public Radio), Celia Wren (Washington Post), Sarah Marloff (Washington City Paper), Rob Brunner (Washingtonian), and Robert Bettmann (Day Eight).
When will applicants be notified of enrollment?
Within seven days of completing a registration application student enrollment will be confirmed with an enrollment offer by email. A total of 12 participants will be enrolled.
How will applicants be selected?
Applicants will be offered enrollment on a rolling basis with priority given to those with demonstrated commitment to arts journalism. Thanks to support from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, 50% of attendees will receive partial or full merit scholarships. All applications are considered on a need-blind basis and all students offered enrollment will be invited to apply for need-based scholarship to attend. There is a $20 fee to submit a registration.
